Each two years HZDR opens the doors of the Laboratory to the general public. Posters, interactive simulations, discussions about goals, methods and results of the research make alive the interaction with the public. About 2500 visitors attended this event on June 9, 2018.
The poster ‘The Mu2e experiment at Fermilab in Chicago’ was presented by Mu2e researchers during the 2018 edition of the “Tag des offenen Labors”. It covered the Mu2e experiment’s physics motivation, illustrated the way the measurement of muon-to-electron transition will be done and finally introduced the two main detectors of the experiment, the tracking chamber and the calorimeter.
