SUMMARY:SIF 2016 - Test beam of the calibration system for the Muon g-2 experiment performed with a 500 MeV e- Beam Test Facility in Frascati
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nThe muon anomaly (g−2)/2 has been measured to 0.54 parts per million by E821 experiment at Brookhaven Lab\, and at present there is a 3 to 4-standard deviation difference between the SM and experimental values. A new muon (g−2) experiment\, E989\, is being prepared at Fermilab that will improve the experimental error by a factor of four to clarify this difference. A central component to reach this fourfold improvement in accuracy  is the lead fluoride calorimeter and the high-precision laser calibration system. After reviewing the requirements and the choices adopted for these systems\, we will report the results of a Test Beam performed at the Beam Test Facility (BTF) in Frascati in which a prototype of a module of the calorimeter fully equipped with electronics and the full laser calibration system will be tested with a beam of electrons of 500 MeV.\n\n\n
